Terms & Disclaimer

Last updated: July 2026

BajaStorms is an independent local weather information service for Baja California Sur. By using BajaStorms, signing up for alerts, or embedding a BajaStorms widget, you agree to these Terms & Disclaimer.

Independent information service

BajaStorms is not an official weather agency, emergency agency, government authority, or public safety authority.

BajaStorms provides weather and storm information for general informational purposes only.

During storms, hurricanes, flooding, dangerous weather, or emergency situations, always follow official guidance from Protección Civil, SMN/CONAGUA, the National Hurricane Center, NOAA, local authorities, emergency services, and other official government sources.

Official advisories and warnings

BajaStorms does not create its own storm warning categories or replace official advisories.

When watches, warnings, advisories, or emergency instructions are issued, BajaStorms reflects official information from agencies such as the National Hurricane Center, SMN/CONAGUA, Protección Civil, NOAA, and local authorities.

If BajaStorms information ever differs from an official source, follow the official source.

No emergency advice

BajaStorms may provide preparedness information, storm tracking, weather summaries, maps, alerts, links to official sources, and related weather information.

This information is not emergency advice, evacuation advice, rescue advice, medical advice, legal advice, or a substitute for instructions from authorities.

You are responsible for your own decisions, preparation, travel, property protection, and safety actions.

Weather information may change

Weather conditions can change quickly. Forecasts, storm tracks, model guidance, satellite imagery, watches, warnings, advisories, and alerts may be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, inaccurate, or change without notice.

BajaStorms makes reasonable efforts to provide useful and timely information, but we do not guarantee that all information will be current, complete, accurate, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Free email alerts

BajaStorms may offer free weather and storm alerts by email.

BajaStorms alert emails are intended to provide weather, storm, hurricane, and significant-weather information related to Baja California Sur. BajaStorms does not place paid advertising, sponsor promotions, or unrelated marketing inside storm alert emails.

Alerts are provided as a convenience and may not be delivered immediately, reliably, or at all. Email delivery can be affected by internet service, spam filters, technical problems, third-party systems, outages, or other issues outside the control of BajaStorms.

Do not rely on BajaStorms email alerts as your only source of storm, hurricane, flood, or emergency information.

You can unsubscribe from BajaStorms email alerts at any time using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting contact@bajastorms.com.

Service-related updates

BajaStorms may occasionally send limited service-related updates about important changes to the alert system, website, mobile web app, or major new features.

These updates will be kept relevant to BajaStorms and its users. BajaStorms does not use storm alert emails as a general advertising or promotional channel.

Website widget

BajaStorms may offer a free storm-status or weather-information widget that other websites can embed.

The BajaStorms widget is provided as a convenience for website owners and their visitors. Widget information may be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, inaccurate, or change without notice.

Websites using the widget may not modify, hide, misrepresent, remove attribution from, or present BajaStorms information in a misleading way.

BajaStorms may update, change, suspend, or discontinue the widget at any time.

Embedding the BajaStorms widget does not create a partnership, endorsement, sponsorship, agency relationship, or official relationship between BajaStorms and the website using the widget unless separately agreed in writing.

Third-party links and data sources

BajaStorms may link to third-party websites, official agencies, maps, forecasts, satellite imagery, advisories, weather products, webcams, or other external resources.

BajaStorms does not control third-party websites or services and is not responsible for their content, availability, accuracy, privacy practices, or terms.

Sponsorships and advertising

BajaStorms may display sponsorships or advertising on its own website or in other BajaStorms-owned placements.

Sponsorships and advertisements do not influence official weather information, advisories, warnings, or emergency guidance displayed by BajaStorms.

Sponsored content or advertising will not be presented as official emergency information.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse BajaStorms, interfere with the website, attempt unauthorized access, scrape or overload the service, misrepresent BajaStorms information, remove required attribution, or use BajaStorms in a way that could confuse users during weather or emergency situations.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BajaStorms and Summaright LLC are not liable for losses, damages, injuries, delays, missed alerts, decisions, actions, or failures to act based on information from BajaStorms, email alerts, maps, forecasts, widgets, third-party sources, or linked resources.

Use BajaStorms as one helpful information source, not as your only source of weather, storm, hurricane, flood, or emergency information.
